FINAL Four

ODDS – PREDICTIONS

2008

And then there were Four! It has been a long road, but the NCAA Tournament is finally down to the last Four teams and for the first time ever, all the #1 seeds have made it to the Final Four to make it quite possibly one of the most talented and competitive Final Fours in recent memory.

Even though this Tournament has seen some unlikely victories, a Cinderella team in Davidson and big time schools like Duke and Georgetown go down very early, it has shaped up just the way all the experts have predicted with North Carolina, UCLA, Memphis and Kansas dominating (well, with some close calls) their competition and making it all the way to the cream of the crop of the NCAA Tourney.

Basketball fans, you are in for a treat as all Four of these teams are seemingly unbeatable with great strengths and very few weaknesses. Here is how it will go down:

#1 NORTH CAROLINA 36-2 vs. #1 KANSAS 35-3

Out of the two match ups in the Final Four I believe this one will have the most predictable out come. UNC coach Roy Williams will be going up against the team he used to coach back in the day in Kansas (so that will cause some emotion and an interesting plot line), but even though Kansas has one of the best defenses in all of college basketball, they won’t be able to handle the Tar Heels and All American Tyler Hansbrough. They always say defense wins championships, but not this time around, North Carolina is just too good and determined to get to the championship!

5dimes.com lists North Carolina at a -3 point favorite. If you want to bet the Game without the pointspread you can risk $160 to win $100 on the Tar Heels or you can risk $100 to win $140 on the underdog Kansas

North Carolina is a perfect 4-0 against the spread in the Tourney while Kansas is 3-1.

#1 UCLA 35-3 vs. #1 MEMPHIS 37-1

I can’t wait for this one! This Game may just be the Game of the Tournament and one that will be remembered forever. Memphis point guard Derek Rose is playing phenomenal basketball right now and if you saw the Game against Texas you know what I am talking about. The kid has incredible quickness, awesome cOurt vision and is a born leader with the ability to put the team on his back when the Game is on the line.

On the other hand, UCLA has a very similar player at a very different position in Kevin Love. The total package, he may not be the quickest of big men, but he makes up for it with his unmatched basketball IQ. Love is the X factor here, is he becomes unguardable in the paint (as he has shown in the past) and unstoppable on the offensive end, it is over for the Tigers, but if Rose and company can find a way to shut him down and stop players like Darren Collison and Russell Westbrook from taking over, I think they will be playing the Tar Heels in the championship.

5dimes.com lists Memphis as a -2 point favorite. You can bet the Game without the point spread by risking $135 to win $100 on Memphis or by risking $100 to win $115 on the underdog UCLA Bruins

Both teams are 2-2 against the spread in the Tourney but this will be just the 2nd time all season that UCLA will be the underdog. Th eonly other time, they were a +1 dog at Stanford and won the Game straight up by 9.
