Chargers

vs.

Cowboys

Week 12

NFL Pick

11/23/17

By: Jason Green

L.A. Chargers (4-6 SU 5-4-1 ATS) vs. Dallas Cowboys (5-5 SU 5-5 ATS)

The Chargers snapped their two-Game losing streak in their last Game and they did it in style putting up 54 points. The AFC is pretty wide open and even at 4-6 L.A. is in the playoff race and they only trail the Chiefs by two Games in the AFC West, Phillip Rivers has been pretty solid on the season as has the defense, which ranks tied for 8th in the league in points against.

At 5 dimes sportsbook this Game is a PICK with the total sitting at 48.

The Cowboys have lost two in a row where they have been outscored 64-16. They have failed to Scoreover 10 points in their last two Games and with the Eagles, who crushed them in their last Game, at 9-1 the Wild Card may be their only way back to the playoffs. Dallas is also without lead RB Ezekiel Elliot, so America’s Team is really behind the 8-ball with only six Games left in the regular season.

These teams have not met since the 2013 season.

The road team is 4-1 ATS in the last five Games between these teams.

The Chargers laid a 54-24 beat down on the Buffalo Bills in their last Game where they scored 37 points in the first half. They only had 36 more total yards, but they forced six turnovers in the Game and picked off rookie QB Nathan Peterman five times. L.A. did give up 176 rushing yards, but they also had 146 yards on the ground and they just took advantage of repeatedly getting the ball back in good field position. Rivers passed for 251 yards with 2 TD and no INT and Keenan Allen had a big Game with 159 receiving yards and 2 TD. Melvin Gordon rushed for 80 yards with a TD and he has really been up and down lately. In his last Four Games the has rushed for at least 80 yards twice and failed to rush for 38 yards twice.

The Cowboys have given up 27 and 37 points in their last two Games respectively.

The Cowboys were beaten badly for the 2nd week in a row in their last Game losing to the Philadelphia Eagles 37-9. Dallas was out-GAined 383 yards to 225 yards, only had 113 passing yards, and they turned the ball over Four times. The Game was close in the first half, but Philly outscored the Cowboys 30-0 in the 2nd half. Dak Prescott passed for 145 yards with no TD and 3 INT and was sacked Four times for a loss of 32 yards. Alfred Morris did have a solid Game with 91 rushing yards averaging 5.4 yards per carry and with Dallas down big later in the Game they had to go away from the ground attack. Morris will have his chances in this Game, as while the Chargers have a good pass defense their run defense ranks dead last in the league.

The Chargers are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 Games, 4-1 ATS in their last 5 Thursday Games, and in their last 5 Games they have an Under record of 4-1.

The Cowboys are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 Games against a team with a losing record, 3-7 ATS in their last 10 Games after a loss, and in their last 14 Games facing a team with a losing record the Under record is 10-4.

Jason’s Pick: The Cowboys have been far from impressive in their last two Games, but they played two good teams. Are the Chargers in that category? Hard to say, but in the Big D the Cowboys will get back on track with the win, as they will run the ball well and not turn the ball over.
