Chiefs

vs.

Jets

Week 13

NFL Pick

12/3/17

By: Jason Green

Kansas Chiefs (6-5 SU 6-5 ATS) vs. New York Jets (4-7 SU 6-4-1 ATS)

The Chiefs blew out of the GAtes this season, but they have cooled off, big time, as they have lost five of their last six Games iNCluding their last three. After Alex Smith started the season on fire with a dynamic offense that offense has fallen flat as of late and they have only totaled 19 points in their last two Games. The KC lead in the AFC West has shrunk to only one Game over the Raiders and the Chargers, who they still have to face.

At 5 dimes sportsbook the Chiefs are the 3.5-point favorite with a total of 44.

The Jets have also lost five of their last six Games, iNCluding their last two, and while the AFC playoff picture is pretty wide open this Game may be a must win for New York to keep their post-season hopes alive. New York has lost three of their last Four home Games, but at least they get to take advantage of a reeling Kansas City team.

These teams met last season in KC with the Chiefs beating the Jets 24-3.

The Chiefs have covered the spread in six of their last seven Games facing the Jets.

In their last Game the Chiefs lost to the Buffalo Bills 16-10. KC was out-GAined 268 yards to 236 yards and the Chiefs failed to run the ball and had the chance for the win, but Smith was picked off late. Smith passed for 199 yards with 1 TD and 1 INT and Tyreek Hill led Four players with at least 33 receiving yards with 41 yards in the air. The Chiefs only rushed for 55 yards and Smith was the leading rusher while rookie Kareem Hunt, who beGAn the season on fire, only rushed for 17 yards averaging a less than stellar 1.5 yards per carry.

Hunt may get his chance to bouNCe back in this Game, as the weakness of the Jets’ defense this season has been against the run where they only ranks 26th in the league.

The Jets lost to the Carolina Panthers in their last Game 35-27 even though they had more yards (391 to 299) and were better on 3rd down conversions. New York lost it in the 4th quarter giving up a TD on a 34-yard fumble return, the only turnover in the Game, and a TD on a 60-yard punt return. Josh McCown had a solid Game under center passing for 307 yards with 3 TD and no INT and Robbie Anderson and Jermaine Kearse combined for 13 receptions, 3 TD, and 251 receiving yards. The Jets rushed for 109 yards, but lead backs Bilal Powell and Matt Forte only combined for 60 rushing yards and neither averaged over 3.8 yards per carry.

New York will be facing a KC defense that did only give up 16 points in their last Game, but overall only ranks 28th in the league defending the pass and 29th defending the run.

The Chiefs are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 road Games, 1-5 ATS in their last 6 Games, and in their last 11 Games facing a team with a losing record the Under record is 9-2.

The Jets are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 home Games, 6-2-1 ATS in their last 9 Games, and in their last 5 Games the Over record is 4-1.

Jason’s Pick: The Chiefs are reeling while the Jets are coming off a Game they probably should have won. Still, Kansas City will turn things around facing the Jets winning and covering the 3.5-point spread.
