The Cowboys were humbled in their last Game getting crushed by the Denver Broncos where they failed to run the ball and they GAve up 42 points. This is after holding the Giants to only three points in their series opener. Dallas heads west on Monday night to take on a Cardinals team that is 1-1 and has some issues of their own early on in the season.
At 5 dimes sportsbook the Cowboys are 3-point favorites with a total of 46.5.
The Cardinals did post their first win of the season in their last Game, but they needed OT to do it facing a Indianapolis Colts team that is without their QB in Andrew LUck. Star RB David Johnson is on IR with a wrist injury and Carson Palmer is no spring chicken any longer. Still, Arizona got the W in their last Game and only GAve up 13 points in doing so after giving up 35 points in the season opening loss.
These teams met last in the 2014 season in the Big D where the Cardinals beat the Cowboys 28-17. The Cardinals have covered the spread in their last Four Games facing the Cowboys.
The Cowboys are coming off a 42-17 loss to the Denver Broncos in their last Game where they only rushed for 40 yards and had 268 total yards. After rushing for over 100 yards in the season opener Ezekiel Elliot was bottled up in the Denver loss with only eight yards on nine carries. Dak Prescott led the team in passing and rushing and in the air he was 30 for 50 for 238 yards, on a weak 4.4 yard per reception average, with 2 TD and 2 INT. Obviously, he needs a little more help from the run Game and the Cardinals would like to see Prescott air it out 50 times again.
Arizona’s defense played pretty well in their last Game facing the Colts and they held them to only 76 yards on the ground. If they can contain Elliot they will be in good shape.
The Cardinals went to OT to beat the Colts 16-13 in their last Game where they scored the comeback with 10 points in the 4th quarter. Jacoby Brissett passed for 216 yards with no TD and an INT and while Frank Gore only rushed for 46 yards look for him to carry a heavier workload this Monday night facing a Dallas run D that GAve up 178 yards on the ground in their last Game.
In a couple of interesting betting trends the Cowboys are only 3-9 ATS in their last 12 Monday night Games and the Cardinals are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 Monday night Games.
The Cowboys are 2-7 ATS in their last 9 Games overall, 0-4 ATS in their last 4 road Games, and in their last14 road Games the Under record is 11-3.
The Cardinals are 4-11 ATS in their last 15 home Games, 3-9 ATS in their last 12 Games overall, and in their last 9 Games the Over record is 8-1.
Jason’s Pick: Elliot led the league in rushing yards last season and the last Game was just a fluke. He will be a big differeNCe maker in this Game, as he will have a solid Game running the ball. This Game will be pretty close, but the Cowboys will come out on top in the desert and they will also cover the spread.
