Vikings

vs.

Browns

Week 8

NFL Pick

10/29/17

The Vikings have won three in a row and with the Green Bay packers loss last week they are now all-alone atop the NFC North. Case Keenum is the leader of the team under center, but the real leader of the team is their defense, which ranks 5th in the NFL in points against per Game. Minnesota’s losses have to come with teams that are least currently. 500, which the Browns are obviously not.

At 5 dimes sportsbook the Vikings are the 10.5-point favorites with a total of 38.

The Browns are along with the San Francisco 49ers as the only winless teams in the NFL and dating back to the start of last season they only have one win. They rank dead last in the league in ppg and even though QB DeShone Kizer was yanked in the 2nd half of the last Game he gets the start under center for this Game. The one bright spot in the last few seasons for Cleveland has been star OT Joe Thomas and he is now out for the season with an injury.

While the Browns are the double-digit home underdog in this Game the last time they faced the Vikings was back in 2013 in the LAnd of 10,000 LAkes when they beat the Vikings 31-27.

In their last Game the Vikings beat the Baltimore Ravens where they out-GAined them 357 yards to 208 yards and they totally stuffed the run. Keenum did not have the best Game passing for 188 yards with 0 TD and 1 INT and three Minnesota players had at least 41 receiving yards. However, the Vikings rushed for a season best 1134 yards and overall the Vikings GAlloped for 169 yards.

Cleveland ranks 19th in the league in passing defense and a legit 9th in run defense and they stuffed the run last week against a Tennessee Titans team that can run the rock.

The Browns lost to the Titans 12-9 in OT in their last Game where they had more yards and ran the ball better, but they had three turnovers while Tennessee only had one. Kizer passed for 0 TD and had 2 picks before being beNChed for Cody Kessler, but Kizer will get the nod in this Game even though he has 11 INT on the season and only 3 TD. He is not working with a great WR corps and it is key that Cleveland runs the ball well and often in this non-Conference match up.

In the loss to the Titans the Browns rushed for 80 yards and Isaiah Crowell only rushed for 35 yards averaging 2.1 yards per carry and Duke Johnson Jr. rushed for 26 yards averaging 3.7 yards per carry. These two backs have a tall task facing a Minnesota run D that ranks 5th in the league.

The Vikings are 9-3 ATS vs. a team with a losing record., 18-7 ATS in their last 25 Games following a straight up win, and in their last 11 Games after an ATS win the Under record is 8-3.

The Browns are 7-25-1 ATS in their last 33 Games overall, 1-11 ATS in their last 12 Games facing a team with a winning record, and in their last 15 Games the Under record is 11-4.

Jason’s Pick: The Browns looked pretty good last week, but the 3 turnovers did them in. While i think they are due for a W they may not get it in this Game, but at home they will cover the double digit spread.
