On Thursday night the Seahawks are a slight 1-point favorite hosting the Rams with a total sitting at 49.

The Rams scored 40 points in their last game and still lost by 15 points falling to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 55-40. They committed five turnovers and only rushed for 28 yards and what makes matters worse is that the game was in L.A.

Even on Monday morning the public has been backing the Seahawks, as they opened as a 2.5-point underdog and now are one-point favorites.

The Rams beat their NFC rivals in the Seahawks twice last season where both were high scoring and close games.

The Seahawks are 7-0-2 ATS in their nine Thursday night games while the Rams have failed to cover in five of their last six Thursday night games.

The Seahawks are 5-1 ATS in their last six games facing the Rams.

Goff’s Mistakes Hurt

In the Rams 55-40 loss to Tampa Bay in their last game Jared Goff became only the 23rd QB to pass for at least 500 yards, but he had four turnovers in three picks and a fumble, which was returned for a TD.

Goff was, pretty much, the whole offense, as the Rams only rushed for 28 yards. Todd Gurley rushed for 1,251 yards last season but through four games this season only has 219 yards. He had 54 receiving yards and two rushing TD in the loss to the Bucs but only rushed for 16 yards.

The Rams have the weapons and Gurley is one of them and he has to get going if L.A. is coming to make it back to the Super Bowl. He will be facing a Seattle run defense that gave up 115 rushing yards in their last game. Last season in the two games facing Seattle Gurley had 199 rushing yards.

Defense Sets the Tone

In the Seahawks 27-10 win over the Arizona Cardinals they scored their first touchdown in the first quarter on a pick-six from Jadeveon Clowney and the defense set the tone for the game. They did not rack up a ton of yards, but the defense played well and they outscored Arizona 20-3 in the first half.

Russell Wilson passed for 240 yards with a TD and through four games he has not been picked off. Three players had at least 50 receiving yards and Chris Carson had his best game of the season rushing for 104 yards.

Even in giving up 55 points in their bad loss to Tampa Bay they did defend the run pretty well. However, they gave up 376 passing yards.

The Rams had only given up 22 points in two games before giving up 55 points in their last game.

 Our Prediction

This game is on Thursday night where the Rams have not been a good bet going 1-5 ATS in their last six games on that day. Conversely, the Seahawks are 7-0-2 ATS in their last nine Thursday games.

The Rams have covered the spread in their last four home games and the Seahawks have covered the spread in their last four games facing a team with a winning record.

I am going with the Rams in this one, as the Seahawks are at 3-1 but their three wins have come facing teams that have a combined one win between them. Look for this game to be like the two last season in a high scoring affair that the Rams will win.
