Analysis

10/27/13

Three cheers for the Giants! They got into the win column with last weeks home win over the Vikings! Now they go for two in a row as they hit the road to take on division rival Philly just a short drive down the Jersey Turnpike. The Eagles are currently -4.5 point home favorites at betonline with a total of 51.

We frequently preach about not backing bad teams. You’re trusting your hard earned dollars with a team for roughly 3 hOurs when you bet on them. If you had to turn your money over to a friend to hold for a few hOurs, and you had two choices, a friend who is always losing things and misplacing things, or a friend who was responsible, who would you choose? Betting football Games is no different. Of course, if your choice is a couple of friends, both of whom are bumbling idiots, then, you have your work cut out for you when deciding who will hold your money.

Of course, the beauty of being a bettor and not a bookie, is that you aren’t forced to bet any Game you don’t want to. This Game may very well fit into the category of better off passing, but we know there’s lots of interest in just about every NFL Game on the board each week, so we’ll offer Our best shot here for the sake of making a selection.

After finally getting into the win column, we’re iNClined to stick with the Giants here to get on a mini roll. There’s certainly nothing in the Giants stats to make us want to jump on their bandwagon though. They are still dead last in the NFL in turnover margin and that speaks volumes for the team as a whole. But they were -15 last week and this week are now -14, so at least they are headed in the right direction!

Look, there’s not a single stat we can give you that supports a play in the Giants here. The only thing we can hang Our hat on is that Philly as been almost as bad as the Giants this year and are having big time problems of their own. Michael Vick is due back this week from a hamstring injury but will likely not be 100% and will likely get hurt again anyways (as seems to happen every time he plays). We’ll side with the two time Super Bowl MVP over any of the three QB’s the Eagles can put on the field.

You can usually throw out win loss records when these two division rivals hook up. We’ll side with New York with the hopes that they build on the momentum from a week ago and make it two in a row. Either way, two bad teams neither one of which should be trusted as a favorite so we’ll take any points available, which in this spot is 4.5. Giants +4.5
