The Philadelphia Eagles are heading into Washington to face a motivated Redskins team that is clawing for the lead of the division with both teams coming in with 3 wins a piece. Both teams are looking up at the Cowboys who come into week 6 with 4 wins.
The Eagles are reeling from their first loss of the season against the Detroit Lions. The Eagles saw rookie signal caller Carson Wentz throw his first interception of his young career against the Lions. Carson Wentz is coming into the Game with 10 touchdowns thrown to only one interception, and he is facing a Redskins team that gives up an average of 275 yards through the air.
The Eagles have one of the best defenses in the league and come into the Game with a plus five on team Take-away/Give-away for the year. The key stat shows the Eagles defense is creating turnovers and their offense doesn’t give the ball up often. This is the reason the Eagles are one of the best teams to start the season.
The Redskins started shaky this year because of questionable decisions from their fraNChise QB Kirk Cousins, who seems to frequently throw interceptions in the redzone. The Redskins QB comes into the Game with 7 touchdowns and 5 interceptions and has thrown for 1,432 yards this year. The Redskins rush offense has picked up slightly over the last couple of weeks, but their leading rusher, Matt Jones, only has 298 yards for the year and a very weak showing with 31 yards rushing against the Ravens last week.
The Redskins will need to control the time of possession this week to have a chance of the winning this Game. The Redskins are confident coming into the Game on a three Game winning streak.
The Eagles are currently a -2.5 point favorite in this Game. From a handicapping standpoint, we”re essentially just being asked to pick a straight up winner. Can’t see any other way to go than with the team that has peoven themselves to be one of the best in 2016. Eagles -2.5
