The Bills will host the Chargers on Sunday in a Game that kicks off at 1pm est. The Game opened at pick at sportsbook.ag and has since moved to Buffalo -2.5. The current total for this Game is 45. The Bills will look to go 3-0 while San Diego is shooting got 2-1, in off a big win over the Seahawks last week and narrowly losing to the Cards in week 1.
The public betting percentages on this Game, which have become very popular in recent years and are available on many different sites, show that 65% of the wagers coming in on this Game have come in on the Chargers. This is significant because the line has moved in the opposite direction. This can be a good indication that the sharper money is on the Bills.
It’s early yet of course, and things will really begin to come into place over the next couple of weeks, however, at this point, both of these teams are in the top 3rd in some important categories we like to look at such as yards per point on both sides of the ball as well as turnover margin.
This is another Game which, from a betting standpoint, the total may be the way to go. The Bills strength is their running Game and they have had trouble inside the red zone this year, settling for field goals instead of TD’s. The Bills offense, combined with their defense only allowing 30 points to date, sets up nicely for a potential under.
Of course, they’ll have to contain Philip Rivers and the Chargers offense. San Diego be without running back Ryan Mathews who it OUT indefinitely but the Chargers Game plan will no doubt be to exploit the Bills pass defense which has been less than spectacular thus far. Tight End Antonio GAtes figures to have a HUGE day Sunday.
This will be an interesting Game and will go a long way towards showing us just how good, or not, the Bills are this year. Our gut feeling as far as the winner here is that the Chargers find a way to come out on top. They’ll have to be wary of a letdown after last weeks big win over Seattle, but the feeling here is that they are the better team and Rivers is the differeNCe.
That being said, we’re going to go with Under the total of 45.
