Packers

vs.

Vikings

Week 6

NFL Pick

10/15/17

By: Jason Green

Green Bay Packers (4-1 SU 3-2 ATS) vs. Minnesota Vikings (3-2 SU 2-3 ATS)

The Packers have won three in a row and they are at 4-1 atop the NFC North with a one Game lead over the Vikings and Detroit Lions. They are coming off a big road win over the Dallas Cowboys where Aaron Rodgers, oNCe again, carried the team to a W. Green Bay ranks tied for 6th in the league in ppg and in the win over Dallas in their last Game the run Game helped Rodgers out for a change.

At 5 dimes sportsbook the Packers are 3-point favorites with a total of 46.5.

The Vikings are coming off a Monday night win over the Chicago Bears where backup QB Case Kennum came in to lead the team to a win and the defense came up clutch late. Speaking of the Minnesota defense they are the strength of the team ranking 8th in the league in points against.

Last season these teams split the two Games facing each other with each winning at home.

The home team is 9-4 ATS in the last 13 Games between these bitter rivals.

In their last Game the Packers beat the Cowboys 35-31 where Green Bay had 56 fewer yards, but forced three turnovers. The Packers scored 20 points in the 4th quarter and Davante Adams caught the Game-winning TD pass with only 11 seconds left. Rodgers passed for 221 yards with three TD and no INT and he spread the wealth around with his deep WR corps. With Ty Montgomery out Aaron Jones stepped up big time rushing for 125 yards and a TD and if he can run the ball well Green Bay will be tough to beat.

The Vikings D does rank 8th in points allowed, but they only rank 22nd in the league in pass defense, so there will be a lot of pressure on their pass rush to get to Rodgers and not give him time in the pocket.

The Vikings beat the Chicago Bears in the Windy City 20-17 in their last Game where Keenum came in for the ineffective Sam Bradford and played well leading Minnesota to three scoring drives. He was 17 for 21 for 140 yards with a TD and lead WR Stefon Diggs only had one catch because of a groin injury, but he should be ready to go in this Game. The Vikings lost rookie RB Dalvin Cook for the season and in the Chicago win Jerick McKinnon rushed for 95 yards and he and LAtavius Murray have to help Keenum out in the backfield. They will be facing a Green Bay run defense that ranks 22nd in the league.

The Packers are 5-2 ATS vs. a team with a winning record, 10-4 ATS in their last 14 Games overall, and in their last 6 road Games the Over record is 6-0.

The Vikings are 24-8 ATS in their last 32 home Games, 9-1 ATS in their last 10 home Games vs. a team with a winning road record, and in their last 21 Games facing a team with a winning record they have an Under record of 17-4.

Jason’s Pick: The Vikings needed a late INT to seal their win over Chicago, but they were facing a rookie QB. Rodgers is obviously not a rookie, as he is one of the best in the business and he will have another solid Game this Sunday in the LAnd of 10,000 LAkes. Minnesota is at home and they will keep this Game close, but Rodgers will make it happen and lead Green Bay to a win and they will also cover the spread.
